WCNY, because its publicly funded, relies on support from the community to keep shows like Bill's on the air. Bill Knowlton's "Bluegrass Ramble" is the oldest bluegrass and acoustic old time country music radio show in the Northeast United States. Bill is entering his 38th year (9pm to midnight (EST) WCNY- FM (91.3) Syracuse, WUNY (89.50 ) Utica, WJNY (90.9) Watertown NY and on the web at www.wcny.org. Diamond Someday will join many other local Bluegrass, Folk and Old Time groups. We'll be playing after dinner but you'll want to come early. Pot luck dinner served around 5:30 pm. Betsy the Barge Summer Concert Series
at Lock 20 on the Barge Canal in Marcy - 6:30 to 8:30 pm. This is a weekly concert series held on a barge at Lock 20. It's free; bring your lawn chairs and blankets. Our lead singer, Shirley's great grandmother spent years on the barges with her father, working the canal. Directions from Syracuse area: Take Thruway to Exit 31 in Utica. You will go under the thruway; go north on Rte. 8/12 for one or two blocks; turn left (West) on River Rd, You will see a Fastrac on the right at the corner of River Rd and Cavanaugh. It is about a mile from there on the left. The State Police is on the right and Lock 20 is on the left.

11th Annual Brockway Truck Show
- 10 Main St., Cortland, NY - 11 AM to 2 PM and 6:30 pm
Our third time doing this show...we have the greatest time! The whole downtown area is closed off to celebrate Brockway Trucks which were manufactured in Cortland until the 1970's. We will be playing on a Brockway flat bed truck in the center of town, right across from the Alliance Bank www.brockwaytrucks.org . It's an incredible sight to see (and hear!) the Brockway Trucks from all over the country as they parade into the main street.What a great day this will be!

Bill has graciously asked us to do one of the monthly 15 minute segments on his show. We join groups such as Bill and Maggie Anderson (from Virginia) and Joe LaMay and Sherri Reese (from Kentucky). Our monthly show: This will be our Brockway Truck show. Brockway trucks were produced for many years down in Cortland, NY. They were special and now, yearly, folks get together in August (the 8th, this year) and show off their Brockway treasures. We'll be playing there again this year. Madrid Bluegrass Festival - Madrid, NY For many Bluegrassers, this is a favorite festival, with good reason. They have great groups, a wonderful audience, and an absolutely beautiful spot on the Grasse River in Madrid. Last year, I looked up while we were singing on stage and saw a Great Blue Heron rising up off the river...an incredible sight. August 1, 2009 - Saturday   Praisin' in the Sun at the Pennellville United Methodist Church, 389 County Route 54, Pennellville, NY from noon to 9 pm. Diamond Someday will be playing from 1 to 3 pm. Then it will be the Atkinson Family! We're thrilled to be joining them. Also appearing will be the Tired Hands String Band, Dennis Shortslef, Les and Linda Green. Chris McCabe, and Diana Gardiner. Says Pastor Connie: "Music does indeed have magical and miraculous charms to add to anyone's daily life. And some of us wholeheartedly believe that we need music in order to survive. Spiritually speaking, music is simply good for the soul!"

We'll help celebrate the pastor's wedding! There are some good Bluegrass love songs...they're not all about sadness and murder!
September 4, 2009 - Friday   New York State Fair Grange Hall : half hour sets at noon, 2 pm, 6 pm and 8 pm. We've played at the Fair several times, but not at the Grange Hall. We're excited about this venue for us. Come and join us!!
September 13, 2009 - Sunday   Westcott Community Cultural Fair - 1:30 PM on the Taps Stage; one 45 min set.The Westcott Street Cultural Fair is an annual, one-day celebration of the diversity and uniqueness of the Westcott neighborhood through its culture, visual and performing arts, food, service organizations, and activities geared to families and university students returning to the neighborhood. The fair attracts more than 8,000 people annually to the Westcott Business District in mid-September for a day filled with great sounds, sights, tastes and more

June 18, 2008 - Wednesday Redeeming Love Fellowship Church Concert - at the Village Park Bandstand in Holland Patent, NY - 7:00 PM This will be a gospel show and will include the wonderful Lindsay Family all the way from Kentucky...doesn't get any better than this! Join us, along with the Delaney Brothers, Blue Lightning and others. This is the second annual festival at the farm...we were at the first! There will be a square dance in the evening...what fun! You can't ask for a more beautiful place to enjoy some good music! From Route 20, turn north on Pompey Center road. It's just up the road a piece, on the right. October 4, 2008 - Saturday - Camp Aldersgate Adirondack Experience - Brantingham, NY - 4 to 6 PM - This part of the weekend is open to the public. The event is part of an exciting, all weekend event at Camp Aldersgate. Come and enjoy a wonderful fall weekend in the foothills of the Adirondacks or just join us for our concert. We'll have a link to a brochure as soon as it is ready. Diamond Someday will perform some traditional French-Canadian fiddle tunes, well known in the logging camps, and some other Adirondack songs, as well as our usual Bluegrass fare.

October 11, 2008 - Saturday - Marcellus Bluegrass partners with the Central New York Bluegrass Association to present an evening of Bluegrass - United Methodist Church, Main St., Marcellus, NY - The Abrams-Burtch Connection from Ontario and Diamond Someday share the stage. November 2, 2008 - Sunday - Jammin' for Joy - CNYBA benefit for Joy Crouch - Wacky Wyatt's in Baldwinsville, NY - 1 to 5 pm - 85 East Genesee St - We will join many other musicians in jamming and entertaining at this benefit for our dear friend and fellow jammer, as well as a fine singer and songwriter.
